The Story Project

As a social enterprise dedicated to supporting schools and teachers, we are always on the look out for new and exciting ways to realise our aim – to use the magic of stories to improve wellbeing and literacy. This often means that we get to work with fantastic organisations, who help bring our resources to brand-new audiences up and down the country.

Over the last few months we have been gearing up for our newest partnership. One that we are ecstatic about! Drum roll please…

We are over the moon to announce that we are now partnered with PiXL!

If you work in UK schools, you will probably have heard of PiXL before. But if not, please allow us a minute to tell you about what they do!

PiXL is a partnership of thousands of schools, colleges and APs. They help to equip leaders cooperatively, with the right support at the right time so they can make a difference in their settings. They offer leadership support, networking, events, strategies, resources and more.

Here’s what they had to say about the partnership: “We are absolutely thrilled that The Story Project will be developing a series of resources exclusively for our PiXL member schools. We know that reading and stories can have a transformational impact on young people, and we love how The Story Project harnesses this potential to teach children and young people the social and emotional skills they need to thrive.

These first resources are all focused on supporting young people in managing change: something that is on all of our minds as we approach the end of this academic year and the beginning of another.

Our Partnership

We’ll be creating specially designed resources based on PiXL’s key themes, which are linked to their national conferences.

The first set of resources are being made by our team as we speak. Adaptable for KS1 and KS2, the lessons are linked to high-quality children’s books and follow our unique S.T.O.R.Y. structure. This tried-and-tested, evidence backed approach, means that the lessons really pack-a-punch…

Emotional regulation strategies, emotional vocabulary, wellbeing knowledge, literacy skills, oracy and more are embedded throughout the resources. Plus, every lesson is linked with the statutory PSHE objectives.

If that wasn’t enough to pique your interest, wait until you see what books we’ve chosen! Thought-provoking and diverse, they help to foster empathy and ignite a love of reading.

As part of the partnership, we will be coming along to the Primary PiXL conferences as often as possible. The next one is Friday 13th June (next week!). There’ll be no bad luck for us, only lots of positive and interesting conversations with leaders.

I want to download the resources!

Interested in taking a look at our specially-designed PiXL resources? Member schools of both organisations will be able to access them in their accounts shortly.

We also have a free trial, which gives access to two complete units and is available to anyone!
