The Story Project

Body Image and Self-Esteem

In partnership with Body Happy Org, we have created two stand alone units of work to support children’s understanding of body image and self-esteem.

Using our trademark book-led approach and Body Happy Orgs’ body image framework, schools can talk about self-esteem in a safe, inclusive and positive way.

Lesson 1: Based on the story ‘Dogs Don’t Do Ballet’ by Anna Kemp, explore how body stereotypes can stop us from achieving.

Lesson 2: Based on the story ‘Bodies Are Cool’ by Tyler Feder, celebrate different body types and talk about how to be inclusive.
