It’s a day early, but we thought we’d get a head start on the ‘Happy New Years’ and wish you all a very healthy and happy 2024. In true Story Project style, we hope it brings you lots of books and lots of opportunities to focus on well-being.

It feels natural to be reflective and optimistic at this time of year, so we are doing just that! Taking what we have learnt over the last 12 months, The Story Project is looking forwards with hope and openness to a new year of successes and challenges.

Something we are particularly excited about is our continued work in Bradford, where funding from Shine means we can work with new schools in the area. These schools will start their journey with us over the next few weeks, and we can’t wait to meet all the wonderful teachers and school staff who will be involved in delivering mental health and wellbeing education to hundreds of children across the city!

Of course, we will also be catching up with our current schools from up and down the UK and checking in to see how you are all getting along. Our new monthly newsletter will mean that you can keep up to date with The Story Project news too, sign up here if you haven’t already – sign up to our newsletter for the latest TSP news!

We are also starting to redesign some of our resources, which we will share with you as soon as we can. This is giving our small team lots of work behind the scenes, but the process has been a really useful way to re-focus on what we want to achieve with the resources. Thinking broadly across our whole curriculum has given us the opportunity to reframe content, book choices and language, which has led to better quality resources.

2024 will also be the year that we start to create more content on social media. We have some experience of this in our previous roles,  but with neither of us even having designed a reel before, we are excitedly (and perhaps a little apprehensively) jumping in to some new learning. Do please keep an eye out on our Instagram, Twitter (X) and LinkedIn pages for updates…and give us some likes and shares so we know our new social media strategy is working well (and so Olivia and I know we have made the reels correctly!) :-).

Finally, we hope that the new year gives us opportunity to delve in to some new books and make a dint in the seemingly never-ending ‘to read’ pile. Here are a few of Fiona’s choices that she hopes to read soon…

Happy New Year!
