About this package

This package is designed to be an introduction to The Story Project, covering the areas of emotional literacy that teachers and support assistants have told us they really need resources for.

This package could be used with the whole class for emotional literacy support or as an intervention by ELSA’s and Learning Mentors who work one to one and in small groups with children who need extra emotional support.

It could also be used by teachers who want to bring more emotional literacy support into their classrooms.

This package contains sets of STORY based resources based around the following topics:

– Emotional recognition and understanding.
We cover this using the book ‘The Boy with Big, Big Feelings.’ by Britney Winn Lee
– Navigating Friendship
We cover this using the book ‘This Moose Belongs to Me’ by Oliver Jeffers
– Anxiety
We cover this using ‘Ruby’s Worry’ by Tom Percival
– Resilience
We cover this using ‘The Girl who Made Mistakes’ by Mark Pett and Gary Rubinstein.
– Anger and keeping calm.
We cover this using ‘Angry Arthur’ by Hiawyn Oram

This package is based on 5 popular and engaging books, there are 5 session ideas based on each book.

This package also contains access to a training video and ongoing support from The Story Project if needed.

Schools or individuals who purchase access to the Emotional Literacy package, will have the price of their package deducted if they choose to upgrade to have access to our whole school subscription package that contains 100’s of resources that support all aspects of children’s wellbeing using the STORY method.

    This emotional literacy package contains resources to accompany stories that cover some of the most prominent emotional literacy themes.

  • Search Feature

    Teachers/ educators can also use our search feature to search for a story and lesson plan related to the wellbeing skill they are currently covering with their class.

  • Request Box

    If you can't find the resource you need, you can also request a resource in our request box and we will add it to our list to create.

  • Video Training

    The package includes access to training resources to help ensure those delivering the programme feel confident in their ability to use these resources to improve children's wellbeing.

Yes, there is FREE membership option, that allows you to trial some Story Project resources.
Yes, The Story Project can be used alongside other PSHE programmes to supplement class learning and to integrate more wellbeing learning into the curriculum. The Story Project can also be used as an intervention for children who are particularly struggling with their wellbeing. Please do get in touch if you want to discuss how The Story Project could be used at your school.

Yes, The Story Project is currently being used effectively at a number of Faith schools.
The Story Project is a non for profit organisation, so any membership contributions go towards improving The Story Project offering and achieving our vision.
The Story Project has been linked to improving children’s wellbeing and literacy. You can find out more about the impact of The Story Project on our impact page.
The whole school, key stage one and key stage two packages are all priced depending on the size of your school, to try and make the packages affordable for every school size. Please do get in touch with olivia@story-project.co.uk if you want to discuss which package would best suit your school.
The membership lasts for one year from the date of purchase and automatically renews for the following year. You will be notified when your membership is about to renew and will be given the option to cancel at any time.
You will be given one membership password per school to share between all the staff at your school. You are only permitted to share the login details with staff at your school. Any accounts with unusual levels of activity will be flagged and in breach of their membership agreement.
